I originally created this to share the trials and tribulations of my health-journey after getting sick and not getting better.
Following illness on my OE, my world was quickly suspended into a limbo half-life of Panadol, fatigue and unanswered questions, where the prime of my twenties looked less like bars in Amsterdam and more like an early flight home.
I quickly learned there’s no silver-bullet, despite trying a multitude of avenues to heal. Instead, I got a crash course in invisible-illness, judgement, blame, isolation and how little control I truly had over life.
But I also learnt how to practice self-compassion, how to slow down, and what I might actually want from life. Everyone struggles against the unavoidable at some point. I hope my personal long-form blogs might be helpful in some way 💛
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you,” Maya Angelou.
If control over hardships is often times limited, my story is a pain I don’t have to suffer.
And nothing strips shame better than daylight.
